Mixed Day Out 2018

Royal Botanic Gardens - Edinburgh

The Indoor Bowlers and All Day Explorers had a lovely day out at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh luckily before the stormy weather returned. Loads of lovely trees and plants, coots and herons, flowers in bloom. You could easily spend an entire day in here exploring all the nooks and crannies, taking in the scents and views, it really is spectacular. We shared some of our lunch with an inquisitive squirrel but sandwich crusts didn't seem to cut it. Probably used to the best nuts from the shop. I'm sure the local robin hoovered them up once we were gone.

PS - Does anybody know what the inscription on the new monument translates too?
