Music Makers 2008 

This is the same course as communication through music that used to run at Jewel and Esk Valley College. While building works are in progress the course is being held at Port Seton Resource Centre. The students on this course get to experience different areas of the Arts to enhance their communication skills for example, the use of music to emphasise rhythm in speech, song making relating to their everyday lives, conducting and taking part in group musical activities. The target group for this course is adults who are interested in exploring different means of communication. The course aims are: to increase self confidence, increase self awareness and awareness of others, improve communication skills, to develop imagination, build cooperation and trust and to encourage giving and receiving support and encouragement to each other. As a previous participant I can only say the course was a real joy to be involved with. Great songs and singing with lots of participation and the chance to try out loads of instruments.
